No APM, no for-fun gaming. Only economy, units, and positioning.
Mate in Eleven is an entry in the auto-battler genre. Economy and positioning reign supreme, and RNG and APM take a backseat.
How it works
8 players take turns simultaneously, and purchase pieces from a shared pool.
Pawns can be purchased from the shop, and they carry with them a unique piece to promote to. At lower levels, you can promote to knights and bishops, and at higher levels you'll be able to promote to rooks and queens.
Each player gets a bench for 3 pieces, and can have 8 pieces on the board at a time.
The shop phase allows players to position their side of the board, and then we have a chess engine pit two players' boards against each other during the combat phase. You play until checkmate.
Each player starts with 8 kings. When you lose a round, you lose a king. When you lose all your kings, you're out of the game. The last player standing wins.
